J.C. obtained his Bachelor of Laws Degree from Dalhousie University in 2000. He is a 15 year member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society as well as a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Lunenburg County Barristers’ Association.
J.C. is currently General Counsel to the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg (MODL) and has provided legal advice to several municipal units on difficult municipal legal issues.
J.C. has appeared at all levels of the Courts in Nova Scotia, including acting as Counsel for MODL at the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal and the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board (NSUARB). He has also appeared at the Federal Court of Canada.
J.C. has served on a number of boards and commissions, including being past Chair of the Nova Scotia Regional Assessment Appeal Court for the Southern Region.
Aside from having a busy young family, J.C. enjoys hockey, both playing for the PLRR Blues men’s recreational team, and coaching his son’s IP level team, as well as dabbling as a recreational musician.
